Introduction to Bioinformatics, Biological Databanks, Biological Sequence Analysis: Genome- Microarray, pairwise sequence alignment, Dynamic programming, global and local alignment, Progressive multiple sequence alignment, Iterative multiple sequence alignment. BLAST Scoring matrices, gap penalty, statistical significance of multiple sequence alignment, sum-of-pairs method, CLUSTAL W, searching motifs in sequence alignment. Structure Prediction – Protein Secondary Class prediction, Protein Folding. Protein-Protein Interaction, Protein Subcellular Localization, Emerging Areas in Bioinformatics.
